Description: 🌿 John’s Family Kitchen Garden: Our GIY Competition Journey🌿

After three months of dedication, we are thrilled to share the final chapter of our medium kitchen garden journey, developed right in the backyard of our townhouse! 🌱 Spanning just 30ft by 10ft, we've optimized every inch of space using vertical planting systems like Mr. Stacky pots, repurposed tyres, PVC pipes, grow bags, cut plastic barrels and a concrete blocks grow box. Incredibly, over 300 plants have been sown and cultivated during this period, proving that even small spaces can yield big results!

Our garden operates efficiently with the help of SolarPoniX Tower Garden and Drip-to-Waste hydroponics systems that run entirely on renewable energy. These systems have revolutionized our water management, and alongside coconut fibre mulch, they help maintain moisture and protect our plants from fungal and bacterial attacks. 🌞💧

To ensure sustainability, we’ve implemented organic pesticides and pest-repelling plants to keep critters at bay naturally. So far, we've harvested fresh lettuce, patchoi, celery, chive, chadon beni, and hot peppers! 🥬🌶 Our cabbages are starting to fold, while tomato and cucumber plants are flowering and fruiting. Although we haven’t seen flowering on our sweet peppers and pimentos just yet, we are excited for what’s to come.

This project has shown us how much can be achieved in a small urban space with the right systems and sustainable practices. We can’t wait to continue growing and sharing the fruits of our labour with our family and community! Thank you for all the support so far, and stay tuned for more updates! 🌍🍅
