Description: Our large kitchen garden comprises of crops cultivated in growbags, grow-boxes and old flower pots, we have adopted a vertical planting system that allows our cucumber to have ample space to grow and develop, vermicomposting provides us with adequate nutrients for our plants while at the same time facilitating an eco friendly approach to obtaining manure. Our automatic drip irrigation system which runs on renewable energy along with our greenhouse like structure removes the need for chemically treated mulch in order to help maintain moisture levels, this feature also aids with controlling fungal and bacterial attack. Homemade and other organic pesticides along with pest repelling plants assist in keeping harmful critters at bay. Crops harvested were lettuce and patchoi, these were also replanted. Other crops in the system include cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, cucumber, celery, chive, chadon beni, melongene, pimentos and string beans.
