Description: Hello and welcome!

It’s your host Nneka again with the second video submission for the G.I.Y. Challenge. In this update, I’ll be sharing the latest on my garden journey.

Initially, the seedlings were transplanted from seedling trays into either individual pots or recycled water bottles. Due to financial constraints, they stayed in the water bottles longer than anticipated. However, I managed to transplant them into new pots on the 30th of July.

I observed that the patchoi planted in individual pots on the 4th of July grew larger compared to those in the water bottles, which were transplanted later. I also faced an issue with pests, particularly caterpillars, eating the patchoi. To combat this, I used nimbecidine and pest spray oil.

Alongside pest control, I’ve been using various fertilizers and treatments, including Harvest More fertilizer, nimbecidine, Top Cop, Green Miracle, Xtra Power, Foli-Zyme, BioForge Gold, and Xcyte, following the recommended schedule, just to name a few.

The garden has expanded with more seedlings, and the updated list now includes patchoi, cabbage (green and red), cauliflower, bodi, tomatoes, lettuce, mustard greens, cucumber, kale, broccoli, sweet pepper, hot pepper, pimento, celery, chives, shadon beni, ochro, and melongene. I still plan to add flowers and decorative fixtures to complete the garden.
