Cocopeat was chosen for grow bags, containers, bottles and buckets to provide plants with aeration , good root development and can hold moisture.

Wood chips, news paper and banana leaves were used as mulch to keep weeds under control and conserve the moisture in the soil.

A crocus bag and garbage bags were used as ground covers to control weeds

Recycled plastic bottles were used to construct self watering systems as well as the vertical garden.
