ROSALIND GABRIEL APPOINTED TO NCC BOARD

On June 21st 2018 Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, presented Mrs. Rosalind Gabriel with her Letter of Appointment to the National Carnival Commission’s Board of Commissioners. The presentation was made at the Ministry’s Head Office at Level 20, Nicholas Tower, 63-65 Independence Square, Port of Spain.
Mrs. Gabriel is a longstanding member of the carnival fraternity and current President of the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Bands Association (TTCBA). She is considered a local authority on Children’s Mas, having produced several children’s bands for more than four decades. Mrs. Gabriel brought her expertise to the Ministry’s Mentoring by the Masters Programme in 2017, facilitating a programme on Children’s Mas.
Dr. Gadsby-Dolly congratulated Mrs. Gabriel on her appointment and indicated that the Ministry looks forward to her ongoing contributions to this country’s carnival sector. Mrs. Gabriel expressed her gratitude and indicated that whilst the journey has not been an easy one for the TTCBA, she is hopeful that her appointment will unify the mas fraternity, reaffirming the old adage that “there is strength in numbers”.
