The 2019 Junior Panorama champion Guaico Presbyterian Primary School will be adding another accolade to their resume; that of Junior Steelpan Ambassadors. Following their success at the 2019 Panorama Competition, the school’s steelpan orchestra was invited to participate in a series of collaborative events in the state of Maryland, United States, including a performance at the graduation of the Cultural Academy for Excellence (CAFE).

The Guaico Presbyterian Steel Orchestra applied to the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts (MCDCA) for assistance with related expenses. The MCDCA expedited the process for the disbursement of funds to ensure that the junior steelpan ambassadors will have the necessary resources to fulfil their mission.

Today, Dr. the Hon. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts presented a cheque to the school’s Principal, Mrs. Indira Rambarran-Mohammed, assuring her of the Ministry’s support of this exciting collaboration.
