CAC ATHLETES RECEIVE 3.7 MILLION IN FUNDING

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD) recognizes the significance of supporting our national athletes as they represent Trinidad and Tobago locally and internationally. In line with this commitment, the Ministry provided the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) with funding to the tune of TTD 3,766,506.00 to facilitate Trinidad and Tobago’s participation in the recently concluded XXIV Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. The games, which took place in El Salvador from June 23rd to July 8th, 2023, saw a TTO contingent of approximately 251 persons comprising athletes and officials, participating in a total of ten (10) team sports, including Basketball, Beach Soccer, Volleyball, Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Water Polo.

Today, the Ministry joins the national community in celebrating the outstanding achievements of our talented athletes who proudly represented Trinidad and Tobago at the CAC Games. Their outstanding achievements resulted in Trinidad and Tobago copping a total of nineteen (19) medals, including an impressive tally of eight (8) Gold, seven (7) Silver, and four (4) Bronze medals.

Against this backdrop, the Ministry recognizes the importance of acknowledging and rewarding excellence in sports.
