Sport Minister congratulates Tennis Association on Bronze Level Certification of Coaches Education System

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development lauds the assiduous efforts of the Tennis Association of Trinidad and Tobago in attaining the highly coveted Bronze Level Certification of its Coaches Education System from the International Tennis Federation (ITF). This implies that our local coaches education system is equipped with the precise resources to independently certify coaches according to the ITF guidelines.

To capture the scale of this accomplishment, our small twin-island nation stands proudly among 15 countries worldwide in possession of the Bronze Level Certification, and is the only English-speaking Caribbean nation to achieve this status. Further, Trinidad and Tobago officially joins a small pool of 15 countries worldwide with a similar standing. The different tiers of certification are: White Level, Bronze level, Silver level and Gold level.

Minister of Sport and Community Development, the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe congratulates the Tennis Association for elevating the status of tennis in T&T by positioning our country as a leading sport destination. “Our National Policy on Sport has capacity-building deeply entrenched in every milestone, and this certification brings us one step closer to realizing our full potential. Our athletes have always demonstrated that we are a force to be reckoned with, and our administrative bodies must also continue to operate at the highest benchmark. This is a great moment for sports.”

The Tennis Association can now conduct ITF sanctioned certification courses up to Level 1, which will be conducted at the National Racquet Centre.
