SPORT MINISTER CONGRATULATES BOXER NIGEL PAUL

Minister of Sport and Community Development, the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, congratulates boxer and Olympian Nigel Paul on capturing the bronze medal in the superweight +92kg category at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

In expressing her congratulations, Minister Cudjoe said, “Paul’s historic win is a great achievement. It reflects his determination, hardwork, and commitment to his craft despite the global pandemic. He continues to persevere and compete at the highest level.” The Sport Minister also acknowledges the effort of national boxers Aaron Prince, Donnel Phillip, Anthony Joseph, Blessing Waldropt, coaches, and the boxing association.  She reaffirms that the “Government of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to providing support to our athletes.”

The boxers represented this country at the World Boxing Championships in Belgrade Serbia at Stark arena from October 24th to November 6th.
