MSCD launches 2021 Digital Sport Calendar

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD) launches Trinidad and Tobago’s first ever comprehensive digital sport calendar, on Friday 8th January, 2021 at 3 p.m.

With a stunning e-magazine design and tribute to Trinidad and Tobago’s first ever Olympic medalist, the late weightlifting champion Rodney Wilkes, the calendar features major local and international sporting events as well as an overview of the Ministry’s sport programmes for 2021. This premier sport calendar includes profiles of the Ministry’s key partner agencies, SporTT and the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee as well as contact information for all National Governing Bodies and sporting facilities.  According to the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, “the reader is taken on an informative journey; learning about the roles and functions of the key agencies tasked with developing our sporting talent and strengthening the sporting fraternity.” She further added that “although the COVID-19 pandemic has dampened our spirits and halted many sporting activities, this e-calendar is a testament to our resilience and a sound message that sport will always find a way to persevere and prevail. We hope that athletes, coaches, administrators, other sporting personnel and the wider population will not only utilize this calendar to stay abreast of all sporting events but feel a tremendous sense of pride that our small twin-island nation remains an active sporting hub in the Caribbean.”

The calendar can be accessed on the homepage of the Ministry’s website mscd.gov.tt, as well as through the MSCD’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The Sport Calendar is organic in nature, allowing for regular updates as needed.
