MSCD HOSTS EAAP WORKSHOP

On Monday 28th March, close to 60 representatives for High Performance/Elite Athletes, Elite Athletes, NGB Administrators, and Officials of the T&T Olympic Committee joined the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, Elite Athlete Assistance Programme (EAAP) workshop facilitated by the Ministry’s Physical Education and Sport Division.

The workshop sought to address the application process for funding and common errors made in submitting applications. In addition, participants were reminded of the need for proper documentation and completion of all the necessary forms which are available on the Ministry’s website. The Director of Physical Education and Sport Division, Mr. Gabre McTair, reassured participants that the Ministry continues to be committed to facilitating and supporting our athletes.
The Elite Athlete Assistance Programme (EAAP) has been offered by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago since 2006 and has supported over 120 different athletes over the years. The programme remains essential to providing our athletes with a means of subsidizing the expenses involved in the athletic development of our most outstanding athletes as they work to bring glory, pride, and honour to Trinidad and Tobago on the world stage.

For further information on EAAP matters, applicants may contact the Ministry of Sport and Community Development through mscd.grants@gov.tt.
