Ministry staff donate hurricane and flood relief supplies.

Members of staff at the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts during its recent donation drive held to assist our flood-ravaged Caribbean neighbours devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria and Jose.

Through this initiative, several items including: water; non-perishable foods; toiletries; baby supplies and over the counter medications were donated by staff at the Ministry’s offices across the country for distribution those in need by the Living Water Community.

These donations were officially handed over to Living Water Community Founder and Director Rhonda Maingot by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Angela Edwards, in a brief ceremony on Friday October 27, 2017 at the Living Water Community’s building on Frederick Street in Port of Spain.

Here at home, the Ministry also donated cleaning items and water to the Mayaro/Rio Claro and Princes Town Regional Corporations to assist our fellow citizens, following torrential rainfall in south and central Trinidad last week.

These initiatives were facilitated through the Ministry’s Corporate Communications Unit.

The Ministry was pleased to be part of these humanitarian efforts, as part of its ongoing mandate to build resilient, culturally rich communities.
