GORTT SUPPORTS ANTI-DOPING IN T&T SPORTS

In the words of the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, “maintaining integrity and values of sport is of paramount importance to us as a Government.”

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development extended support to anti-doping efforts in T&T sports through a contribution of over TT$200,000 to the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC). The TTOC will utilize this funding for its doping control memberships with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organization respectively, as well as athlete testing.

Permanent Secretary Mrs. Angela Edwards was on hand to present a cheque to TTOC’s President Mr. Brian Lewis. She reiterated that the Ministry and broader Government “will ensure unstinting support to local sporting leaders such as the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee in discharging their duties to maintain clean and fair games for all.”
