GIY Challenge

A re-introduction to the agricultural aspects of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition, formerly known as “Clean & Beautify T&T”.  The Ministry of Sport and Community Development successfully implemented a Grow it Yourself Community Kitchen Garden Initiative in 2020 to support the call for increased food production, but focused on a micro level, targeting households within communities.  This initiative took the format of a community-based approach, through a competitive structure, in an effort to provide incentives for persons to adopt home gardening while supplementing household food security.
