Description: Hi. My name is Kevin and this is my 3rd and Final submission for the MSCD GIY Challenge, 2022 #giy #growityourself #bestvillage #mscd

My Non-Return, Drip-to-Waste Hydroponic Kitchen Garden is comprised of Four (4) Mr. Stacky Columns - 3 x 8No., 13" pots and 1 x 2No., 18" pots for a total of 26No. pots occupying 20 sq ft of space. The vertical orientation saves on space and makes maintenance fairly easy.

The Growing Medium used is approximately 1-part Promix and 1-part Goat Manure.

The crops planted include, Cauliflower, Tomato, Celery, Chive, Pak Choy, Kale, Lettuce, Sweet Peppers and String Bean. These crops were planted on the 19.04.2022.

Irrigation is via a drip system which utilizes its own supply of potable water and harvested rainwater. The 'Fertigation' technique is employed where crops are fertilized via the irrigation system. Irrigation is further optimized via a timed system (pump and timer) which is run three times daily for 4 - 5 mins at a time. This is adjusted based on weather conditions.

Plants such as Marigold are strategically positioned throughout the system to aid in deterring pests and at the same time serve as a food source to pollinators.
