GIY Challenge

Description: Hi, welcome to my GIY kitchen garden where you know what you are eating when you grow it yourself. I have planted 8 crops altogether.My long term crops are:tomatoes, ochroes, cabbage and caraile.My short term crops are: lettuce, patchoi, celery and parsley. These crops were planted in both grow boxes and containers. My garden size is 78 sq ft.

Blossom rot was only on one (1) of the tomatoes and Calcium was added to the plants.

Water conservation- I used a watering can, bucket and recycle a plastic container that I made holes into to water my crops, and now that rain is here the crops are blossoming beautifully.

Garden equipment- fork, shovel, scissors, knife, rake, grass cutter, cutlass and hoe.

Safety equipments- gloves, mask, boots, hat and goggles.

Grass was cut and added to the compost. A fishing net was used to protect my crops from the chickens.

Ants were treated to a mixture of 1 teaspoon of baking soda to ¼ gal of water. The mixture was poured downward into the entrance of the ant hill.

Prune and cleaning weeds from the garden on the 24-05-2022 & 08-06-2022.

Seeds have been sowed for continuation of companion planting and crop rotation.
