Description: The Bel's family kitchen garden is composed of two growboxes which facilitates composting, a vertical planter with a composting compartment and a growbag. It occupies a total space of 90 sq ft. The crops planted include, cabbage, cucumbers, tomato, Celery, chive, parsley, patchoi, sweet peppers and lettuce, these crops were planted on the 19.04.2022. The system operates using drip irrigation which is facilitated using harvested rainwater. The fertigation technique is employed where crops are fertilized via the irrigation system. Plants such as marigold are strategically positioned throughout the system to aid in deterring pests and at the same time serve as a food source to pollinators.
