Land/ Container Preparation:
Land: The area was cleared and carefully measured. Each area got tilled to break apart old soil. A soil mixture of sand, cow manure, compost, lime stone and pro mix was then mixed together with the old soil. After soil was prepared it was drenched in water and seedlings were transplanted.
Grow Bags /bucket/ container: Each bucket, container and grow bag were sanitized before using. The grow bags were then folded to the appropriate height and placed in the desired area. A soil mixture of sand, cow manure, compost, lime stone and pro mix (organic matter) was then placed in each grow bag, container and bucket. After soil was prepared it was drenched in water and seedlings were transplanted.
Self Watering Container/ vertical garden bottles:All plastic bottles were cleaned and sanitized before using. Then each bottle were cut according to their purpose. For example the self watering system bottle were firstly cut in half, then to the cover of the bottle a hole was made to put the wick through. Water was then added to the reservoir( underneath part of bottle) and soil to the other half. A soil mixture of sand, cow manure, compost, lime stone and pro mix (organic matter) was then placed in each After soil was prepared it was drenched in water and seedlings were transplanted.
Fertilizer Application:
a handful of seaweed were applied per plant after transplanting. This acts as a natural fertilizer for plants. It was also used as mulch for the plants.
